A Guide for Parents & Travellers
An EF tour is built for learning through hands-on experiences, making lasting memories through trying new things, and most of all: having fun. Whether you're a student packing for your first adventure or a parent helping your teenager get ready, preparation is the best way to make this experience feel seamless and exciting. We’ve put together everything you need to know, with actionable tips for parents and travellers alike, to ensure the journey is smooth and full of unforgettable moments.
Pre-tour preparations for parents
Health and medical details
Complete the Health and Medical Profile form and share important information with the Group Leader, including allergies, medications, and dietary restrictions. Ensure prescriptions are filled, packed in their original packaging, and included in hand luggage, with paperwork copies readily available.
Stay connected with eSIMs
Equip your teenager with an international phone or data plan for essential communication. For seamless connectivity, consider an electronic SIM card (eSIM) from our preferred provider Airalo, which provides instant access to networks in over 200 countries and offers a 10% discount to all EF Travellers. For details, visit or contact EF Traveller Support at 1-800-263-2806.

Dietary needs and snacks
Let EF Traveller Support and the Group Leader know about any dietary restrictions or allergies, and pack snacks to ensure your teenager always has safe options. While EF strives to accommodate special meals, having familiar snacks on hand can be a game changer.
Pre-tour checklist for travellers
✅ Pack like a pro
Stick to the essentials—leave expensive jewellery and designer clothing/accessories at home. Bring comfy shoes, weather-appropriate clothes, and a secure travel pouch for money and valuables.
✅Learn the group rules
Respect your group’s time by being punctual and following the behaviour guidelines set by your Group Leader. Sticking to schedules keeps the adventure on track and fun for everyone.
✅Be travel-smart
Keep an eye on your belongings, especially in busy tourist areas. Use a travel pouch to secure money and passports, and double-check you’ve packed everything before leaving hotels, buses, or airplanes.
