Language Immersion in Munich
Each day of your Language Immersion Tour is built around a different theme that ties together daily language classes, cultural activities and interactions with locals. Accredited classes at our EF International Language Schools provide students with the cultural context and relevant vocabulary for each experiential activity. Through it all, your Language Immersion Tour Director will be with you, supporting your students’ language learning and highlighting each breakthrough moment.
Day 1: Fly overnight to Germany
Day 2: Munich
- Meet your Tour Director at the airport
- Take a walking tour of the city: Neues Rathaus; Glockenspiel; Frauenkirche; Munich Residenz
Day 3: Munich
- Take an excursion to Neuschwanstein, the fairy-tale castle perched in the Bavarian Alps
Day 4: Munich
Daily Theme: German Industry and Economy
- Practice your conversational German as you learn about Germany’s industry and economy in a morning language lesson
- Go behind the scenes on a tour of the BMW museum
- Put your new knowledge to the test by surveying locals on their favorite German brands
- Enjoy a homemade dinner with a local family
Day 5: Munich
Daily Theme: German Culinary Traditions
- Interact with local vendors during a market challenge at the lively Viktualienmarkt
- Enjoy a picnic lunch of regional food at the Englischer Garten
- Practice food-related vocabulary in an afternoon language lesson
- Try your hand at preparing authentic German food with a cooking class
Day 6: Munich
Daily Theme: German History and Heritage
- Learn history-related terms and practice your conversational German in a morning language lesson
- Visit the memorial museum at Dachau
Day 7: Munich
Daily Theme: Youth Culture in Germany
- Meet local German students and compare teenage life in each country
- Practice your conversational skills in an afternoon language lesson that focuses on culture
- Enjoy a traditional Bavarian Brauhaus dinner
Day 8: Munich
Daily Theme: German Art and Artists
- Practice your German while you learn about Germany's unique art heritage in a morning language lesson
- Visit Nymphenburg Palace, the former summer home of Bavarian rulers
Day 9: Depart for home

Travel to Berlin, the vibrant capital of reunified Germany.
- Experience Germany's high speed ICE train
Day 10: Berlin
- Take an expertly guided tour of Berlin: Brandenburg Gate; Kurfürstendamm; Remains of the Berlin Wall
- Pass through the Checkpoint Charlie Museum before visiting the former headquarters of the Gestapo and the SS, the Topography of Terror
