Vimy 105: Beaches & Battlefields
Although battles raged in many places around the world, both World Wars were fought primarily on European soil—so there are few places better than France, Belgium, and Amsterdam to deepen your understanding of Western history. Explore the beaches at Normandy at the Juno Beach Centre, pay your respects at the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate, and walk through the dark, cool tunnels of the Wellington Quarry. After you travel through Belgium and the Netherlands, you may choose to end your tour with a trip to the picturesque Dutch towns of Volendam and Zaanse Schans.
