VE Day 75: Belgium, the Netherlands & Germany
When we read about the Second World War, we often read about the decision-makers—Churchill, Hitler, Roosevelt. But students and young people in Heidelberg and Munich were risking their lives to protest the Third Reich. On this tour, learn about Sophie & Hans Scholl, students at the University of Munich, who spread anti-Nazi messages of peace (and were executed for their efforts). In Heidelberg, visit the student prison where the walls are covered in rousing political messages and art. And throughout your time in Europe, find inspiration in the passion and persistence of young people who made it possible for this generation to continue making a difference.
Set departure date: May 1, 2020. Space is limited.
