Custom-Designed Tour in France

We helped Alain design his very own 16-day Discover France tour for the summer of 2014. Alain has taken his students to France for the past four years, and each year he wants to vary his itinerary to give his repeat travellers something new to see and experience. His latest tour includes visits to the Saint-Denis Basillica in Paris, Miniature France and the Camargue Regional Nature Park.

Day 4: Paris
Unique highlight: Visit the Saint-Denis Basilica, the world’s first Gothic structure and burial place of many of France’s kings and queens, including Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI. This imposing structure with its amazing stained glass windows will leave an impression on you that will last a lifetime.

Loire Valley
Visit Versailles
Unique highlight: Visit Miniature France, a 12-acre outdoor park that exhibits over 160 1/30th scale models of French monuments and landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower.
Days 6-7: Loire Valley
Visit the châteaux Chenonceau, de Villandry, d’Azay-le-Rideau and de Loches
Enjoy a Troglodyte Dinner
Day 8: Sarlat
Visit a Porcelain Factory in Limoges
Days 9-10: Carcassonne
Visit Lascaux II
Participate in a scavenger hunt
Days 11-13: Avignon
Visit Aigues Mortes by “Petit Train”
Unique Highlight: Visit Camargue, the rustic Parc Naturel Régional that is home to wild bulls, horses, flamingos and the cowboys who guard the wildlife. Enjoy a boat excursion on the Rhône and free time in the coast resort town of Les- Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
Days 14-15: Paris
Return to Paris by TGV train
Visit the Arc de Triomphe, Opera Garnier, Les Invalides, Carnavalet Museum
Day 16: Depart for home
